Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano - Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano
351 S Studio Dr, Orlando, FL 32830

Open seven days a week, 11:30AM–8:30PM

Our reviewers have visited Mama Melrose on a couple different occasions which is always a good sign. We wouldn't be going back if it were underwhelming - trust me!

We highly recommend reservations especially on weekends as it gets really full around lunch, and they will turn away walk ups when it is.

From the appetizer menu, we can recommend the muscles and the calamari. Of course being a true italian restaurant, they bring out freshly made bread and olive oil and pepper for dipping. It is delicious but save room for the main course!

From the drink menu, we highly recommend Mama's Margarita which is made with  Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Sweet-and-Sour, and Orange Juice. It is a perfect blend of orange juice and lime juice and is a delicious refreshing beverage on hot days. For the coffee drinkers in the crowd, we are happy to report they serve Joffrey's. If you're nice they'll even provide coffee in to go cups after your meal.

On our latest visit, we had the Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Vegetarian Minestrone, Carne d'Italia Flatbread, the Sustainable Fish of the day which was Salmon, and Seasonal Italian Salad.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana and and Grilled Asparagus

Carne d'Italia Flatbread (Pepperoni, House-made Sausage, Pancetta, and spicy Marinara Sauce

Seasonal Italian Salad - Romaine Lettuce, Spinach, Warm Focaccia, Butternut Squash, Asparagus, Tomato, Onion, Cucumber, Feta Cheese, and Lemon-Tarragon Vinaigrette
In our group were Italians from New York who gave rave reviews on the Salmon and the Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana. We were delighted with the meatballs which were delightfully flavored but not spicy and a complimentary red sauce. The Vegetarian Minestrone also had a robust flavor providing an excellent vegetarian option. The Italian salads were made with fresh tomatoes and squash which had good flavor as well. The Carne d'Italia Flatbread or call it a pizza if you like had a good balance of flavor and was well received by a discriminating pizza enthusiast.

We sampled the Tiramisú, the Cheesecake and the Gelato. All were tasty, but we must set the proper expectation on the Tiramisú. It is not a cake based traditional Tiramisú, but Layers of Mascarpone and Espresso soaked Lady Fingers topped with Cocoa Powder and Whipped Cream. Our resident Italian was put off by the absence of cake but enjoyed the flavor. We can recommend all three of these dessert options in good conscious and recommend a night cup of Joffrey's coffee to compliment.

Overall Rating: 5 Slaps!!!
