View from dining room
Our reviewers samples the New England Clam Chowder for an appetizer, the 10-oz Port Braised Beef Short Rib, the Lobster Macaroni & Cheese, and the Shrimp and Grits.
New England Clam Chowder
The New England Clam Chowder was a generous portion for an appetizer. In retrospect, we would recommend one order being shared by two adults. It contained Baby Clams, Applewood-smoked Bacon, Potatoes, and Cream. It was absolutely delicious and not the run of the mill soup from a can that one might encounter in other establishments listing clam chowder on their menu. Our reviewers returned empty bowls to the server that were spotless.

Lobster Mac & Cheese
The Lobster Mac & Cheese was chunks of lobster tossed with Applewood-smoked Bacon, Baby Spinach, Peppadew Peppers, and Herb Toasted Panko. It was loaded with delightful flavor and again was served in a generous portion, so much t that the reviewer could not finish it after consuming the Clam Chowder appetizer.
Port Braised Beef Short Rib
The Braised Beef Short Rib was 10 ounces of slow-cooked (eight hours) beef short ribs served with creamy Smoked Gouda-Polenta, Roasted Pearl Onions, Baby Carrots, and a Cabernet Demi-glace. Our reviewer cut into the first rib and began to proclaim its wonderful flavor. He initially questioned why it needed the demi-glace because he found it had a wonderful flavor. But then he dipped the next bite into the demi-glace and was astounded. This definitely made the "Must Have Again" list.

Shrimp and Grits
The Shrimp and Grits were Sautéed Shrimp, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Local Corn Succotash, Andouille Sausage, and a Creole Spice Emulsion. This entree' was sampled by two of our reviewers who both have it two thumbs up. One was pleasantly surprised that she like the corn succotash. The combination was a wonderful flavor fest.

For adults, the Coral Reef Restaurant has a fully stocked bar with several great wine choices as well as a exhaustive listing of specialty cocktails. We highly recommend their Blood Orange Margarita.

They have a mouth-watering dessert menu, but again our reviewers were so stuffed that dessert was not sampled on this visit. We plan to revisit in the future to sample their Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse.

Plan your budget accordingly as entree's range from $24-$34, but we found the quality of the food and the scenic environment well worth the price.
