Our reviewers visited on a Sunday during brunch hours and sampled The Sage Viking’s Biscuits and Gravy, the Classic Eggs Benedict, the Old McDonald had a Big Breakfast, and the Eddie.
The Eddie is tater tots tossed in the fresh garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. You can never go wrong with tater tots and the garlic and olive oil set them off as a great appetizer for anytime of the day.
We've come to find numerous establishments messing with two sacred items on a Southern menu: Sweet Tea and Biscuits and Gravy. Neither need sprucing up, fixing, or twisting. Thankfully The Lure understands this and makes traditional Sweet Iced Tea that looks like tea and tastes like tea. Good Job folks.
The Sage Viking's Biscuits and Gravy was selected solely because of the high amount of disappointing results we have experienced in other establishments. At this point, if you dare to list Biscuits and Gravy on your menu, our team of reviewers are going to order them and put them to the test. We are delighted to report that The Lure makes a biscuit you can easily cut with a fork and it is covered it delicious sausage and black pepper gravy that Grandma would approve. This entree' earned a solid 5 slaps.
The Classic Eggs Benedict is simply what we would expect, two poached eggs over Canadian bacon sitting on a split English muffin topped with Hollandaise sauce. and you are given the choice of Tasso ham breakfast hash or smoked Gouda grits. Our reviewer opted for the smoked Gouda grits, and reported they had a wonderful flavor and proper texture .We were not disappointed with the presentation or the flavor and gave it a solid 4 slaps.
The Old McDonald had a Big Breakfast is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tater tots, smoked Gouda grits and Cuban toast. Again a solid hit with flavor and a serving so hearty, our reviewer could not complete it all earning 5 slaps.
We were very pleased with the brunch items we sampled and will return to sample the sushi entrees.
