Grandma’s Pound Cake

3 sticks butter
3 cups sugar
pinch salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
6 large eggs
3 cups sifted cake flour


Cream butter and sugar til light.
Add cream cheese; beat 'till fluffy.
Add salt and vanilla.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add flour on low speed.
Bake in a greased, floured tube pan for 1 ½ hours at 300F.
Add pyrex cup filled with water in oven.
